JAN BANNING
RED UTOPIA. Communism 100 years after the Russian Revolution
30.09.2018 - 13.01.2019
What is left from the grand communistic utopia 200 years after the birthday of Karl Marx and 100 years after the October Revolution? Not so much, says Jan Banning.
The Dutch photographer documented and vivisected the world of the communistic parties with lovingly distance by photographing their offices: Mostly spare equipped bureaus, whether in Russia, Italy, Portugal, Nepal or India. Bannings images also show the idealists, who keep in times of unleashed capitalism their faith in a better and socialized world.
This series will be shown in Germany for the first time.
