ANNABEL GREINER & KATHRIN GREINER
SECRETS AND MYSTERIES
21.05. - 30.07.2006
In Annabel Elgar’s and Anne Kathrin Greiner’s work night and day appear in mysterious pictures. Both young London based photographers masterly manage to show the world as a space filled with projections and expectations of inner states of mind. Both formulate questions and open situations without offering answers. Anne Kathrin Greiner’s nightly images shift the spectator into a strange abeyance between attraction and repulsion. In contrast Annabel Elgar constructs plots and fills empty spaces with people. Her topic is the time of adolescence and the transformation from childhood to becoming adult, which creates mysteries but also adjusts sites.
